The teachers who are working in the department encourage the B.A. students (DSC/Optional English) to learn English as an important language and literature subject in their course. The department conducts seminars, interactions and giving home assignments to students and returns them after correction. Teachers advise the students to participate in different competition like quiz, elocution, debate, and exhibition. Our students participated in inter-college/University and state level events and got the laurels to college. Each year students are also advised to join actively in NCC and NSS and give them awareness regarding anti-ragging, eve teasing. We teach them moral values and work ethics.

The department is adopting new techniques towards the development of student’s communication skill and personality development. Though this area is considered as backward but the students are not lacking in studying English as one of the two basic languages up to fourth semester for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com and BCA courses and Optional English for those who have opted as one of the three optionals at B.A. level.
